Life was a little too busy this year for me to get my crops for The Veranda started from seed. Instead I purchased my plants from The Brooklyn Botanic Garden May plant sale, Evolutionary Organics at the Grand Army Plaza Farmers’ Market, Pet-al Plants, and Oak Grove Plantation at the Union Square Farmers’ Market. Additionally, my peppermint came back from last year, and I still have the oregano from last year that I had transplanted into a pot to bring inside all winter.
This year I tried to get a few tomato plants with small fruit so that I might have more luck harvesting more than 5-10 tomatoes! I also put most of the herbs in pots so that I might keep them through the winter.
