What’s Growing on the Veranda in 2016

Life was a little too busy this year for me to get my crops for The Veranda started from seed.  Instead I purchased my plants from  The Brooklyn Botanic Garden  May plant sale,  Evolutionary Organics  at the  Grand Army Plaza Farmers’ Market, Pet-al Plants, and  Oak Grove Plantation  at the  Union Square Farmers’ Market.  Additionally, my peppermint came back from last year, and I still have the oregano from last year that I had transplanted into a pot to bring inside all winter.

This year I tried to get a few tomato plants with small fruit so that I might have more luck harvesting more than 5-10 tomatoes!  I also put most of the herbs in pots so that I might keep them through the winter.

Here’s the collection:

Citronella, Shishito Pepper, Como Di Toro Pepper, Padron Pepper
