Casellula

Casellula  ranks as my favorite cheese and wine bar, by a landslide.

Located on the corner of 52nd Street and 9th Avenue, I often come here for a quick bite and glass of wine before seeing a show.  They serve a menu of small, medium, and large plates, and have an exceptional Fromager.  I adore the cheese condiment pairings, which are always well thought out and delicious.  Unlike some establishments who serve the same few condiments with every cheese (as much as I enjoy truffle honey…), Casellula’s pairings strongly depend on the type of cheeses being served on the plate together – and are always a mix of savory and sweet, and different textures.  I have actually never had the same condiment pairing twice!

I am always eager to take friends and family to Casellula – they never disappoint.

My only advice is to get there early to grab a seat, and to let the Fromager make your cheese selection for you!
